Mainstream medicine fails to address what the root cause of anxiety is in your life, leaving you trapped in a never-ending cycle. But emerging science reveals a path to liberation and lasting health.
The research suggests that anxiety is not part of your inherent self, and true healing is possible.
In this blog, we’ll explore why mainstream medicine falls short in treating the root cause of anxiety and how science is paving the way for a more holistic approach to healing.
In today’s fast-paced world, the medical industry often resorts to quick fixes and symptom management. While medications can provide temporary relief, they often fail to address the root causes of anxiety.
By merely suppressing symptoms, the core issues remain untouched, allowing anxiety to resurface time and time again.
It’s like putting a band-aid on a gunshot wound.
Critics argue the symptom-centric approach in mainstream medicine is influenced by the profit-driven nature of the pharmaceutical industry.
The documentary “Big Bucks, Big Pharma” highlights the impact of the industry on medical practices, research, and treatment availability.
To summarize it for you, the belief is that by masking the problem (providing temporary relief but not solving the root cause) it creates recurring customers, and there’s less incentive to focus on curing the mind and body.
Understanding these dynamics is essential for comprehending the limitations of conventional approaches to anxiety treatment.
Might be worth a watch if you’re serious about understanding this more.
Before I continue, please know I’m not dissing mainstream medicine, quite the contrary. I’m an advocate for it in many circumstances and I think people who say it has no place in this world are delusional.
Nevertheless, it’s essential to understand that conventional approaches are still focused on alleviating symptoms rather than targeting the root cause of anxiety, and therefore never truly healing you.
It’s fairly well-known there’s a connection between anxiety and traumatic experiences. Trauma, whether it stems from childhood events, accidents, or other distressing encounters, can profoundly impact your perception of things.
For example, if your first encounter with a dog was a brutal attack, that trauma gets ingrained into your subconscious mind (the part of you that stores all the information around you) and consequently you’ll have a hypervigilance filter to dogs compared to someone who’s had positive experiences with them.
Science, psychology and spiritual practices all accept that past experiences shape the present reality and perception of future experiences.
Bringing this back to the context of this blog, an unresolved trauma response is often at the core of anxiety disorders, making it crucial to address these underlying issues to achieve lasting healing.
(In our previous blog, we discussed emerging science research on healing your energy by optimizing the power of the mind-body connection).
To truly heal from anxiety, a holistic approach is required – one that considers the mind, body, and spirit as interconnected components.
In the same way mental health awareness has drastically shaped the medical field the past couple of decades, integrative medicine that recognizes the mind-body connection is the future of healing.
(In fact, Australia where I live just announced psychedelic therapies involving MDMA and magic mushrooms will be legalized to heal PTSD).
Integrative therapies such as psychotherapy, mindfulness, meditation, neurofeedback and energy healing modalities are gaining recognition for their ability to address the root cause of anxiety.
By combining these practices with conventional treatments, you can overcome anxiety and trauma, and accelerate towards sovereignty.
In the past, anxiety was often seen as an inherent part of an individual’s character, something they had to learn to live with. However, the emerging field of epigenetics has shown that our genes are not our destiny.
Scientific research suggests that through intentional healing practices, we can modify the expression of our genes, effectively rewiring our responses to anxiety triggers.

This means that anxiety is not an indelible mark upon your identity, but a condition that can be healed.
Alongside therapeutic interventions, making conscious lifestyle choices plays a pivotal role in anxiety recovery.
Nurturing practices such as adequate sleep, regular exercise, healthy nutrition, and self-care activities help cultivate resilience, promote emotional balance, and support overall well-being.
By adopting a comprehensive approach that encompasses self-care, individuals can optimize their chances of healing from anxiety.
Understanding the connection between anxiety and unresolved trauma is crucial, as traumatic experiences can profoundly impact one’s perception and contribute to anxiety disorders.
Embracing a holistic approach that integrates mind, body, and spirit is key to achieving true healing.
