I’m sure you’ve heard of Dopamine, but have you ever wondered what it is? Let’s know what Dopamine is.

Well let me explain:

It is a neurotransmitter. It helps control the brain’s rewards and pleasure centres.

It also controls the movement and emotional responses.

It even allows us to not only see our rewards, but it also allows us to take action, so we can move towards them!

However:

Dopamine can also work against you!

It’s actually a black and white thing because it can either be very pleasurable and helpful, or very destructive to your system!

How?

Let’s get into it:

Let’s say you’re lacking it for example.

The problem this causes is making you more prone to addiction.

What Does This Mean Exactly?

It’s simple:

You would suddenly have a craving to take self-destructive substances and drugs, such as:

  • Cocaine
  • Nicotine
  • Alcohol
  • And so on.

This is a huge problem, and most people don’t even realize it!

An Interesting Fact:

Cocaine gives you 12 times more dopamine than what you receive from sex, eating, sports and any other pleasurable activities!

No wonder drugs are so hard to give up!

Crazy isn’t it?!

How Can You Manage It?

There’s multiple ways.

You can start by doing things such as:

  • Making sure you’re keeping busy
  • Do pleasurable activities such as:
  • Sports
  • Eating
  • Running
  • Sex (with the right people of course)
  • And many more!

By doing things to keep your dopamine levels healthy, you must avoid the chances of turning to drugs or anything that’s self-destructive!

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that controls the brain’s reward and pleasure centres.

There’s a trigger point in the brain which releases some of it.

However, not enough dopamine makes you more prone to things such as:

  • Taking drugs
  • Alcohol
  • Nicotine
  • And any other self-destructive substances!

Doing pleasurable activities such as sports or good sex helps manage your dopamine levels!

So I encourage you to keep your dopamine levels healthy!

Avoid the temptation to turn to damaging substances such as drugs, or too much alcohol.
